As the COVID-19 lockdown gripped the nation, countless families—especially migrants and the lower middle-class—struggled for basic necessities. Under the leadership of Bharatbhai Shah, Chhanyado swiftly responded with compassion and urgency.

Acting on Ramjibhai Chandak’s bold suggestion to fully utilize the trust’s corpus, Chhanyado launched a massive relief operation to provide cooked meals and essential medicines—while upholding the dignity of those served.

9 relief centers were established, powered by 650 volunteers, to deliver support in the hardest-hit areas. Between 27th March and 31st May 2020, over 5.5 million wholesome meals were distributed, made possible with the generosity of local farmers from Timba, Shampura, Olpad, and Kamrej Taluka.

In a time of fear and uncertainty, Chhanyado chose action, solidarity, and service.
