At Chhanyado, we believe that no caregiver should go hungry while caring for a loved one. Our Bhojanshala provides wholesome meals at just ₹3 per dish to the relatives and caretakers of patients admitted at New Civil Hospital, Surat – many of whom travel from far-off rural areas of Surat, Navsari, Bulsar, Ahwa, Dang, and Bharuch districts. This initiative has been running with love, dignity, and integrity for over two decades, serving as a model for compassionate food security in public hospitals.What We Serve
- Daily Meals at ₹3: Fresh, hot, and nutritious food prepared using pure ghee and groundnut oil.
- Free Morning Tea & Biscuits: Served to hundreds of waiting caregivers every day.
- 600–650 people served daily, easing the burden of those already struggling emotionally and financially.
- 40+ daily tiffins sent to Parivartan Vyasan Mukti Kendra patients from Old Civil Hospital.
Special Care for Mothers & Newborns
We provide a Complete Baby Care Kit & Post Pregnancy Nutritional Food for Mother free of cost to every Newborn & Mother at New Civil Hospital, including:- Baby mattress, towel, mosquito-protection cradle (Zula), cloth set (15 pieces)
- Protects newborns from infections like malaria and supports postnatal care
- One Box of Vasana Ladoo is provided Free of Cost upon discharge from Gynecology ward of New Civil Hospital Surat
- Cost per kit: ₹232 | 700+ kits distributed monthly
Nutritious Meals in Wards
We serve Shiro made from pure ghee, wheat flour, and jaggery to:- All patients in the Gynec Ward and Children’s Ward, absolutely free
- Every mother is also gifted 1.5 kg “Vasana Laddu” made with dry coconut, ginger, edible gum, and pure ghee after discharge for postnatal recovery
Medical Instrument Bank
We offer essential medical equipment free of rent (against refundable deposit) to discharged patients for home recovery:- Fouler beds, wheelchairs, walkers, suction machines, oxygen cylinders, Concentrator, Machine, backrests, commodes, Post Operative Eye Care Pillow, and more.
